Jamie graduated in May 2014 from the OVCMT 3000 hour Registered Massage Therapy program in the Okanagan Valley, and is registered with the College of Massage Therapy of BC.
Jamie has experience in her practice with a wide scope of conditions and clients from newborns to geriatrics. With a background in Science and Nutrition at UBC, she is naturally drawn to health, wellness, anatomy and physiology. While actively engaged in an evolving practice within the multi-dimensions of therapy, she is continuously researching and incorporating various types of complementary and alternative medicine.
She has studied Myofascial Strain Release, Osteopathic Techniques, and Visceral Manipulation in her continued education. Through personalized treatments, Jamie addresses each client’s unique needs, pain tolerance, nervous system and areas of focus. Her treatment style is specific, mobilizing soft tissue, joints and fascia, with a goal of creating balance in the body. This process of therapy is followed by demonstrating remedial exercise, structuring a treatment plan, and recommending hydrotherapy for continued benefits following the treatment.
She works on all conditions and states of discomfort including flare ups, chronic pain, prenatal, post natal, rehabilitation, relaxation, sports massage, postural, addresses gait, and biomechanical strain from activities of daily living. Her goal is for her clients to leave with an improvement to their area of concern, and an overall feeling of calm and vitality.
Jamie can usually be found walking and cycling in the city, hiking and paddling in nature, or travelling and embracing a new culture. She is looking forward to meeting and working with you at Cambie Village Massage Therapy.
